Based
on Matthew 25:34-45. Lord, remember when you said about being hungry, thirsty or a stranger? Remember when you said about needing clothes, or visiting? Tell me, when have I met someone who was hungry? When has anyone been thirsty that I haven't given them a drink? When have I not befriended a stranger? When has anyone needed clothes and I haven't clothed them? When has anyone needed visiting because of illness and I haven't seen them?
Child,
open your eyes! Look around you. See those
who are hungry
for compassion that you don't
feed. See those
who are thirsty for my word that
you don't give to them. Look around
at the people you meet every day, but are still strangers.
See the people
who need
clothing in warmth
and friendliness. Look around, and you will see those that are lonely, and those who
are prisoners in
their own home. How much they need you to
visit them.
Tell
me child, do you think that those people around you are
in any less need of my Love? What
you do for them, you also do for me.
Those who are in need are always around, but sometimes
you need to look. (c) Jamie Hunter |
